The garden 'KAB'in

I was so nervous watching the Static come round the lane, It was so wide it had to have a hazard vehicle in front of it! After having to stop a few times to let a tractor past, it finally arrived!
It had been raining so much all day, when it came to pushing it onto our garden, it just sank wheel deep into the mud! It was very tense ( I ran indoors! I couldn't watch) but after much 'jacking up' and re fitting onto the metal runners, it was finally put into position :-)
There she sat for a couple of days, awaiting hubby's next day off to do the levelling. She sank again wheel deep so we had to buy a 3 tonne jack and loads of concrete blocks to get her stabilised and levelled in her forever position.
It took some doing but we got there, daddy even had some help from Lollipop and Elvis! (Our toy poodle crosses!)
The next chapter is to get the armoured cable fitted underground in a trench to connect her to the mains electric. I'll keep you posted!

Copper penny fireplace floor

Well I'm thrilled with my efforts on this latest project! Hubby had to finish the sides and floor of our knocked through fireplace with cement, so I took the opportunity to lay 1 pence pieces into the floor whilst it was wet!
Had a bit of an 'emergency moment' when I realised that I had drastically underestimated how many coins I would need, I have no idea what I did but I was short about £8 worth! Lol
After a dash to the post office, and borrowing a copper saving jar from a friend, it's completed. Yesterday I gave it a nice shiny coat of to seals gloss hard as nails floor varnish. It's now super shiny and I love it

Patchwork wallpaper

On a whim today I decided to start a patchwork wallpapered wall in the cosy living room. I can't take the all the credit as I am always inspired by others 'just have a go' efforts. This time it was shabbychicsarah.blogspot.com that inspired me, I just love her home :-)
So with my stash of wallpaper upstairs, I selected 4 designs, 'summer palace', 'heligan' and Lloyd from Laura Ashley and a Cath Kidston one that I bought when I was doing my napkin shopping for my radiators online. I saw it and had to have a roll! My impulse purchases always come in handy at some point ;-)
So I've cut 25cm squares of the 4 papers and started!
I'm already thrilled with the results
, what do you think? I hope some of you have a go, even if its in the smallest room of the house!

The garden 'KAB'in

We're getting our huge static caravan delivered on Tuesday! 32x12ft. It'll be a fab place for our visiting friends and relatives to stay and it's going to be sited on the unused side if our garden. We will be putting in a sweeping drive too at a later date to enable us to not have to reverse out of our drive onto the country lane. This can be quite hair raising if a tractor comes round the corner!!
Anyway for now we've been removing the old trees that were in the way, most of which we're growing at very odd angles and as much as I love trees, those ones were covered in ivy and therefore half dead anyway :-( I'll plant some elsewhere as I do feel a little guilty, but I'll plant ornamental or fruit trees this time.
So we're quite excited for Tuesdays delivery, fingers crossed it all goes according to plan!
